Do I get both BAH and OHA or is there something else I need to be aware of? If I take a 1-year unaccompanied ADOS tour in Europe without PCS authorization, how will I pay for both my housing in Europe and at my HOR? 2020-09-14T17:49:41-04:00 2LT Private RallyPoint Member 6310350

Hi all I am looking at taking a 1 year unaccompanied ADOS tour in Europe without PCS authorization, whenever I go on orders for more than 30 days they give me my Home of Record BAH, since where I will be heading requires officers to live off post, How will I pay for both my housing in Europe and my housing at my HOR? If quarters are not available or Soldier (E7 and above) elects to live off post, they must choose to retain their BAH for their primary residence or request a waiver to receive the duty station OHA, whichever is higher. A Soldier without dependents will not receive both BAH and OHA.

I too am going on an ADOS tour in Europe and was sent a USAREUR ADOS guide which squared a few things away for me. Reading between the lines, I believe if you are able to live on post then you get your home BAH and they provide the housing, but on post housing is slim in some places. If you end up living off post, you choose to receive either your home state BAH or receive OHA.
https://www.eur.army.mil/Portals/19/documents/ADOSInfoPacket191218.pdf?ver=2

ADOSInfoPacket191218.pdf

Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 16 at 2020 9:40 PM 2020-09-16T21:40:49-04:00 2020-09-16T21:40:49-04:00 2020-09-14T17:49:41-04:00
