If I PCS to JB Lewis-McChord and attend and complete RASP, can I keep my station there and just transition over to 2/75th? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/if-i-pcs-to-jb-lewis-mcchord-and-attend-and-complete-rasp-can-i-keep-my-station-there-and-just-transition-over-to-2-75th

I’ve been told that when I do complete RASP, I’d have to stay at my current station until I’d been there for the required time on station (24 months). I was just curious that me being already there, would they just give me orders that have me report to 2/75th or would I have talk to someone in 2nd to possibly get to stay there?
Also is there a Regiment recruiter up there that I could talk to or would I have to speak to my schools NCO to get a packet together?
Thanks for any info. I appreciate it.
RLTW Wed, 08 Aug 2018 21:47:46 -0400 If I PCS to JB Lewis-McChord and attend and complete RASP, can I keep my station there and just transition over to 2/75th? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/if-i-pcs-to-jb-lewis-mcchord-and-attend-and-complete-rasp-can-i-keep-my-station-there-and-just-transition-over-to-2-75th

I’ve been told that when I do complete RASP, I’d have to stay at my current station until I’d been there for the required time on station (24 months). The MiCO is also in Benning. You ARE NOT guaranteed any of them. Benning. When I was in 4th ID they required to go through it before I attended Ranger School. What you are trying to do is go to Regiment. You need to submit a DA 4187 through your Brigade Commander. I have the example that you can fill out and submit through your COC. When I get to my office tomorrow I'll look you up on global and email it to you. As far as getting to choose what Battalion you go to from what I understand you get placed based off where they need your skill level for your MOS. That being said, If you were to graduate RASP, the cadre will ATTEMPT to grant “sympathy assignments”, justification usually being family, spouse etc. When I attended RASP, the cadre passed around a wishlist for where you wanted to be assigned to and why. The majority of my class got their battalion of choice, including one married Soldier from JBLM. Yes, he was able to move “up the road” from 2nd ID TO 2/75.
I don’t honestly know if there is a regimental recruiter at JBLM. You will most likely have to contact the recruiter via phone or email and they will send you a packet. You can attempt to enter the 2/75 compound, but do so at your own risk haha.... You can also visit the local ARSOF recruiting battalion located near the airfield and they might point you in the right direction... or they might try to recruit you for the other SOF units haha... good luck to you sir.
