I submitted an application online though E-EFMP because my husband has to get screened before going overseas. I was told it would take up to 60 days…The thing is I can’t put in any of my paperwork to get my orders until I get that 5888 done. Until then I’m stuck at TRADOC. (For background, I’ve been on AFI since April because my class got our projections late, due to the IPPSA integration.)

If I choose to PCS without my husband, could he at a later time get orders to come where I’ll be stationed? And would the military pay for him to come here, such as paying for the flight, moving household goods, and shipping our car, even if it’s AFTER my report date. Suggest you read through https://www.rallypoint.com/status-updates/8315388?urlhash=8315637 as that would have the answer regarding your Household Goods (basically, you can do multiple shipments, but the military will only pay up to a certain amount defined by how much they would reimburse for one shipment at 'best value').

What you're describing is referred to as Deferred Dependent Travel. Since they are authorized, the government will fund their travel just as they would have it they traveled with you.

Bottom line - You will still have all your travel entitlements regardless if you and your family travel together or separately. HOWEVER, for the shipment of goods, the government will only pay up to the amount they would have paid if you shipped your maximum allowance in one shipment from your your old permanent duty station (PDS) to your new PDS.

You'll have to talk to your transportation office to work out the details and find out what that maximum allowance is that they will cover.

The one thing you'll probably have to figure out is where your family will stay when you leave if you're in government quarters. This is a discussion you'll have to have with post housing. If you live off-base, then you might have to soak up paying for two places or paying for one if you have government quarters at your OCONUS location.
