I was told by my PSG that my CO informed him i will not be allowed to pin E6 unless i re-enlist. My ETS is not until december 2018 and I already have ALC completed. Is this even allowed? If I'm within a year of ETS and have a code 13 on my ERB (potential for QMP), must I re-enlist in order to be promoted?2018-01-06T03:15:17-05:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member3231074<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I just passed the promotion board to E6 yesterday but i have a code 13 on my ERB (potential for QMP). SGTs (E5) are not reviewed for QMP, that happens at centralized promotion boards. Go see your unit S-1 and career counselor to get further clarification of the code on your record and to ensure you don’t have a SRR (service remaining requirement).Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 6 at 2018 4:32 AM2018-01-06T04:32:25-05:002018-01-06T04:32:25-05:001SG Leon Espe3234447<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It has been a long time ago for me but if I remember correctly a minimum service required after promotion is 2 years. I made the E-9 list in 1970 with about a year to go on my last hitch. I was told I would make E-9 in about a year if I reenlisted and that I would be required to serve in the E-9 grade for at least 2 years before I could retire with E-9 retirement pay. I took retirement in 1971and passed up the promotion. No regrets.Response by 1SG Leon Espe made Jan 7 at 2018 9:16 AM2018-01-07T09:16:03-05:002018-01-07T09:16:03-05:00SSG Cody Dudek3234538<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>When I got out in 2014 it was 12 months active leftResponse by SSG Cody Dudek made Jan 7 at 2018 9:55 AM2018-01-07T09:55:32-05:002018-01-07T09:55:32-05:002018-01-06T03:15:17-05:00
