But I would suggest you to ask your Chain of Command to give you a ride until you are assigned a barrack room or get a vehicle if you live off post. It is very dangerous to walk though any gates with all the traffic.Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made May 6 at 2016 12:02 PM2016-05-06T12:02:28-04:002016-05-06T12:02:28-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member1506247<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If you have your ID and your orders on you, you should be fine. Usually your CAC card will suffice as proper identification, but it's not a bad idea to have some other form of photo ID on you just to be on the safe side in case the guards ask for two forms. I know here at JBLM it's on a random check basis that they ask for it. Also, if you plan on going through the gate with a backpack or something like that, be prepared to have it searched by the guards. They frown on people walking up with baggage... for obvious reasons. Hope this helps you out a little better.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made May 6 at 2016 4:37 PM2016-05-06T16:37:54-04:002016-05-06T16:37:54-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member1507048<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Just don't try that through the All American gate. <br />Seriously though, Bragg is the size of a small city, you need a car.
