If I go to a non-SF Captain's Course and still go to SFAS/SFQC? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/if-i-go-to-a-non-sf-captain-s-course-and-still-go-to-sfas-sfqc

This coming June, I'll be PCSing to the UK with my civilian career. I'll be switching from the Guard to the Reserves (and IN to MI) so I can keep up a "drilling" status. I'll likely go through MICCC while I'm OCONUS. When I come back, I'd like to pursue SF in the Guard. Is going through MICCC a deal breaker? I've heard from different people that MCCC is a pre-req for 18As, but haven't gotten a straight answer if I wouldn't be able to give SFAS a shot when I got back with the MI Career course. Any information/advice would be great. I have not seen a more senior Captain get sent to SFAS, though in the Guard, I suppose a unit could try to make an exception:
http://www.nationalguardsf.com/special_forces.shtml#requirements

- The official National Guard page confirms that resident MCCC is a requirement, which makes sense. I do not think that another branch's career course would be accepted by anyone as an alternative. That leaves the question of whether the Army would send somebody to two different Career Courses. In theory, I guess it's possible, but seems extremely unlikely:
http://www.nationalguard.com/forums/forum/joining-the-guard/national-guard-specialty-officers-and-special-forces/special-forces/21817-special-forces-requirements

Joining Guard Special Forces | About, Requirements & Contact

How to Join the Army National Guard Special Forces | About, Requirements, Pre-requisites, Disqualification, Evaluations, Training, Locations, Contact a NG SF Training Team

LTC Yinon Weiss Fri, 20 Feb 2015 22:22:30 -0500 2015-02-20T22:22:30-05:00 2015-02-16T11:40:07-05:00
