If I do not attend my NG Annual Training (AT), would I get punished if I was not aware of or given any info about it? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/if-i-do-not-attend-my-ng-annual-training-at-would-i-get-punished-if-i-was-not-aware-of-or-given-any-info-about-it

I got switched units, but was told no actual information. I only found out about getting switched bc I asked my old supply sgt about when I’ll be getting my gear. I was only given my new supply sgt’s number and when I called the first time, he was also unsure about what is really going on. He told me the dates for AT but was unsure if I was to go. He told me to wait for an email while he speaks with the 1st sgt. It’s been awhile now and still no email or calls. I tried calling twice more and it went straight to voicemail each time. Phone calls, emails, text messages, etc. Are you close enough to drive to the armory? If someone isn't answering the phone, call someone else. If you can't get in touch with someone in the new unit, ask your COC in your old unit. The NG is a pretty close knit group. I'd be surprised if they couldn't get in touch with someone. Keep a record of every time you called, who you spoke too and what the conversation was about. Soldiers transferring in, without gear, often do not end up going to AT. This is not a hard rule, just my observations as someone who spent 24 years NG. She wasn't told where or when she needed to be, and I'm presuming as she wrote this has not received orders. The unit should have someone's home address and phone number. It's the responsibility of the unit to notify the soldier when they have AT or are coming on orders. If orders are not received, why should the soldier show up?

Now, having said that, the soldier has the responsibility to check their military email and record on a regular basis. If she's done this, and she calls once a day to the unit, I think she's covered.
