It pretty much boils down to space and availability of accommodations. If you do as it was suggested, then you have a better chance of not being treated like a recruit again. You need to have them on your orders. It should be that you will be restricted during the first 2 phases of AIT, just as the other trainees, but after that you can live with them. <br /><br />Even so, being prior service you will not have the same restrictions as new trainees. I was not restricted. You meet formations and then done. I lived off base so. My family was not there but came in visited regularly.
