If confirmed, will the use of chemical weapons by ISIS on the Kurds change current US foreign policy in the region?

If ISIS starts using weapons of mass destruction or chemical weapons, do you think the US will change its current policy in the fight against ISIS? Should we? What should we do?

We are really getting into a quandary here, I don't know what will change. Where is the ISIS HQ....I can go on with the problem set but this is not a good situation whatsoever. Might it be best to continue to support without troop combat operations type involvement, I'd say so.

I doubt it, CW5 Jim Steddum. I think we have done or have in the works (planning) as much as we are going to do. ISIS has proved themselves to be murderers and thugs. Using chlorine gas against the Kurds gets added to a long list of things.

The one thing that I think would change our policy toward ISIS would be brutal attacks by ISIS in CONUS. I think that would change things in a big way. And I suspect ISIS knows that as well.

If they figured out a way to employ CW in a deadlier fashion (ie mortar bombardment of villages with chem warheads...etc) where they were killing innocents by the thousands per strike, I could see there being a stronger pull for a bigger commitment to end it more quickly. Might be politically untenable not to.
