In my unit people with those schools were stuck in HQ platoon and on deployments stuck in the rear with the drones:) no disrespect to them:) I’m not sure if other units are set up like that, I was in a field MP Unit. All schools are good if you can get them. The trick is to get assigned working what you went to school for. I know some that went to MPI school and never worked the job, only coming back their unit. The best is to get a slot enroute to next assignment(PCS) better odds of being assigned to the PMO. Working in mpi you get access to a lot of unique schools associated with investigations. Plus you tend to do a lot of flight and uc missions. I loved working mpi, but I had a great office. It has a lot of benefits but also a lot of responsibility especially since you'll be working alone a lot. Either asi will be good on the resume if you plan on working leo outside the army. I Army regulation you cannot actually be a military police investigator without attending the school. Rather than extending I chose to ETS. That doesn't mean I didn't learn the stuff though. It was not that different then traffic investigation. It was just a different subject matter. TAI will suck, you'll be at every flipping fender bender the patrolman sandbag on you. MPI, civilian clothes a, you'll spend 50% of your time doing IA investigations... At least in the Navy I did, patrol doing everything from poaching to sexual assault, your hated when you walk into the Desk Sargent area or patrol HQ and everyone shuts up when you are around, hahaha!
