If a dog scent kit used by the K-9 unit is not on property book is it on an open document at the ASP?( I know this question is a stretch but no one I know ya an answer)

I have never seen an e581 request for a k9 scent kit in two yrs as the ammo manager for 1st SFG. Maybe the scent kit is ordered by the k9 unit from the manufacturer and then placed on the property book.

The only way it would be on an open Document and tracked by the ASP is if it is not on a 581. If I understood the question. Right. You can always contact the warrant officer working inside the ASP for technical knowledge on your situation.

The scent kit is part of their OPL. Its requested through TAMIS and issued on a 581. After issue the 581 and 3151 are taken to PBO and added to the property book just like any other OPL.

Honeslty, if it's not on the books its not your concern. Ammo is always liable for what is in there containers. Then also, the person possibly MPs or E.O.D perhaps are in charge of it. If they dont want it documented you can take it out and have them store it somewhere else. It's not your responsibility, unless the commander told a brother or sister unit to store it there.
