If a Conservative Violates The Constitution As Trump is Proposing Would You Stand With Him Or With Your Oath And the Articles Of Freedom?

Mr Trump is proposing changes to the US constitution and the art. of American freedom These changes may be aside by SCOTUS but it would change Our constitution. and set a precedent for a future POTUS to also make changes. Our Constitution and articles of freedom have kept us whole for 241 years. Again, This is not about politics this is fundamental changes to our American way of life. Now, I did not swear an oath to Mt Trump, I am not against him But I am against changing our freedoms. And I want to know how many of you would stand with your oath or with Mr Trump.

I would stand by my oath and the art. of our freedom. I am not interested in Obama, or the politics this is about our freedom, So, only whether or not, you will place your oath ahead of politics. Sorry this was my first discussion It seemed very important.

Does he propose changing the Constitution, or will he simply ignore it by fiat?

If he decides he wants to change it, according to law, which is legal. I don't have a problem with it. If he takes a shortcut and attempts to impose his will against it? Then Congress will either support him or not, and impeach him if they choose. Not a place for the military. There are laws against that.

Of course, if Trump gets elected, he will not have a lot of friends in Congress. He is not an establishment Republican, and he will get as much pushback from them as he will from the Democrats. Both establishment Republicans and all Democrats have a vested interest in letting government grow unfettered. It needs to be stopped.

I am not sure what you are referring to as the "articles of freedom." I am fairly familiar with U.S. history and do not remember those. As such, I doubt they have kept us free and whole. I swore an oath to defend the Constitution. Secondly, what changes is Donald Trump proposing to the Constitution? Are you referring to the registration of muslims? Please enlighten me.

If Trump or anyone wishes to change or amend the Constitution, there is a process (actually two) to do so. Until then, it is still the supreme law of the land.
When in recent years the Constitution and the separation of powers has been ignored by politicians, it is because they lack the political and moral courage to stand up for it. Congress could have stopped much of what they are bellyaching about through the power of the purse, but have not because they don't want the fight, they want the election year issue.

Well there is a right and a wrong way to do things and there is a way to change the constitution I dont know about what the articles of freedom are or why we should change to them.

There is no legal precedent for the President to change the Constitution. That power lies with both houses of Congress, but the amendment must be ratified by 3/4ths of the state legislatures. Or the legislatures of 3/4th of the states must call for a Constitutional Convention. The Articles of Freedom are meaningless, they carry no legal weight. This is a simplistic statement, if you want the straight skinny, read article V of the Constitution.

Presidents have ignored parts of the constitution. But no president has ever changed the constitution. And when they overstep their bounds there is the supreme court to intervene, which ot has.
