But when do you draw the line on what you should change because someone in the public doesn't like it. Example: someone took a picture of someone dropping off food for the guys at the gate working 14hours a day and unable to leave the gate. Our cheif saw the pic and it was an issue, is this to far or no? I would like to hear from the higher ups (E-8/9 and O-3+) about professional perception. Is there a point where it is too much? 2016-12-27T18:05:56-05:00 SSgt Private RallyPoint Member 2193281

I get professional image, and I understand what it means In most obvious scenarios. Did that happen? Or did they call from the gate and order delivery? Depends on the context.
I couldn't chastise someone for eating Chinese food in lieu of an MRE. If they ordered from the Mandarin House and had it delivered....eh, that's different. If their battle buddy or spouse/significant other brought them food... I don't see an issue...outside of some SOP/Policy I'm not privy to... A lot of other people can eat whenever they want, the Security Police don't always have that mobility and if the Chief didn't support His own men shame on Him ! I find that response from a senior NCO or Officer disgusting and I'm glad I never had to work for anyone like that! As a Senior NCO (now retired) myself the individual minding someone else's business would find out very quickly it wasn't a good idea !
