I think we should be replacing any that we can with automated systems. I feel bad that people might get phased out, but progress is important. We don't feel bad that wagon wheel builders got phased out - same deal - just a different generation. Automations is the way to go - it's faster, more efficient, works 24 hours a day, never gets tired, etc, etc, etc....

I suppose they'll have to go ahead and get an education after all. And then they can build and service the machines that took their jobs.

Have a look at the UK, because of the living wage issue, they are implementing automation at an alarming rate.

For giggles and grins, look at what's happening in the Northwest of the US... I believe it was Seattle that established a mandatory $15.00 and hour min wage only to have the workers demand shorter work weeks so they would qualify for social benefits.

I have no problem with this. If $15 an hour wages causes companies to automate, then they should automate. That will just result in more jobs for the robot manufacturers.

Stay relevant or become obsolete. I have no issues with this at all.
