Unfortunately I do not have that message at hand.
Assuming this is for you or one of your subordinates, id caution you on a verbal answer. Don't push the issue until you find the appropriate and current message.

This is a great question to ask the servicing IG, not as a complaint, but in researching or clarifying army policy.

You may also find a local commanders (post) policy, which details a redeployment time line, and will likely cite the current Army policy.Response by SGM Erik Marquez made Jan 12 at 2017 11:01 AM2017-01-12T11:01:04-05:002017-01-12T11:01:04-05:00SFC George Smith2241635

this is a most interesting situation... I don't remember the source document, but it is the minimum time cited in every (honorable discharge) separation policy from Voluntary separation, QMP/QSP, and the now rescinded Involuntary Separation Program.
In fact, you are required to have begun the transition process by completing the first part of Soldier For Life - Transition Assistance Program no later than one year from your ETS.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 13 at 2017 4:44 AM2017-01-13T04:44:15-05:002017-01-13T04:44:15-05:00SFC William Stephens2245793

is this combat deployment? your extended seen it done in IRAQ for soldiers for more then 1 year, you raised your hand brother. They don't have time to take you out of the fight and ship you home because one your numbers are reported daily during combat. You'll get there. When you get back, don't be in hurry to go anywhere. The saying is mission first which as a former NCO I very well understand; however, if I had a soldier who was about to ETS while down range, the soldier would come first. Reason that is one I want to know if he's going to extend or not ? I need to know if he's in the battlefield or at home when we out the wire or just being deployed. Plus, why they deploy you ?! Me personally I would be taking to the retention NCO, because he's going to have a lot knowledge on this topic. I believe once your time is up your time is up regardless the organization mission. You raised your hand, but you gave a time line that's on the contact. I wish the best and you get your answers.
I'm just a Vet nowResponse by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 14 at 2017 4:02 AM2017-01-14T04:02:44-05:002017-01-14T04:02:44-05:00SPC John Lebiecki2282225

Question: Did you bring this up with your CoC before the deployment (beyond your TL/SL/PSG)?Response by SPC John Lebiecki made Jan 25 at 2017 4:05 PM2017-01-25T16:05:21-05:002017-01-25T16:05:21-05:002017-01-12T10:51:50-05:00
