I was dropped as an 18x from SF selection now I'm going needs of army to be supply specialist. can anyone tell me about fort lee?

Everything is the Army can be broken down into three things-

Right place, right time in the right uniform.

Other than that, you'll be fine.

But don't speed in and around Fort Lee, not even 5 miles over the limit. And stay away from the local bars, even though I know you will disregard this, but they tend to attract drunk young Soldiers who have watched too many UFC fights....

I figured they would put you in as an 11B. At least thats what I was told from the 18X guys when we were in OSUT in Benning.

I am a former 11b who reclassed to 92Y it's a different kind of pace but fort lee will be different trust me

Was a great place about a hundred years ago when I was there. The beach isn't too far away and the place was full of sweet southerners. I was also a southerner with a thick accent though but you should be ok. Enjoy the food and the base but go explore everything except the bars. Its just not worth it. Have fun, take lots of pictures, and get contact info on friends.

Are you going for AIT or permanent party? That'll make a difference. Either way, go far, far away from base and there are lots of cool things. There are 1,000s of AIT privates all around the base though who march through the mall and what not. Kinda funny to watch but it is what it is. I found the area around the base to be a very depressed economy so keep that in mind too. Some areas had some people that were very disrespectful towards military but some didn't. I'm sure they had their reasons but watch yourself. No need to fight the civilians.

Ft. Lee is not to bad. I was there for 4 years and found my self in Richmond a lot cause the surrounding area suckers but, as far as being there for train you might not get to go there or have a need to go there, be careful in Petersburg. It can be rough there. The mall in Colonial Hieghts isn't that bad.

I am at Fort Lee right now for the rest of my AIT. I mean I understand that training and the real army is different, but the Sgts and Officers are super chill and are amazing. It gets super cold here sometimes but its also Virginia. I think you might like it. Its really beautiful!! One thing to warn you about, I do see a lot of cops around here pulling people over so be careful driving around here. Everything is also really close by the base. Very convenient!!

I got med dropped from the course and am now being reclassed to 92Y. How was your experience as a reclass in AIT?
