I was barred from reenlisting for APFT and ETSed with RE code 3 at 71/2 years. I now have a degree and want to go to OCS. Can I?

I was barred for APFT due to not taking a PT Test because of the temporary profiles I was on I had swollen tendons in both feet. I was never given the chance to get a permanent profile by my doctor. . .I do not know why honestly. Anyway, I got out, got better, and now have my degree and want to become an officer. Can a 28 year old prior service specialist be accepted into OCS? I have RE code 3.

It usually depends on the code they gave you when you got out. You may still be eligible to go back in, may need a waiver, or that damn code may screw your chances of going back in altogether. A recruiter should be able to tell you.

I would say the only to know is to try. If you don't try the answer is "No". In order to reenlist, you would need a waiver.

Sorry, I sent that to the wrong spot, I was just trying to say, to you might care to look at other svcs besides army, as well, just a thought, incl the usphs commissioned corps, just an idea, for patient record aspects, privacy, HIPAA, they have differing rules, I'd read, sometimes, and do use Bach lvl for engrg and info systems, sometimes, I'd read, though you'd need to ask, they're active duty, that's the only reason I suggest it, I realize it might not be whatnyoud want, it's just an idea, honest.

SPC Jesse O I am not in the Army nor am I a recruiter, but after a little reading it looks like you should be eligible. You may need a "waiver" as per RE Code 3, however if you are medically cleared and can physically perform, you shouldn't have a problem. Bad recruiters may try to turn you away because of the additional paperwork - but I would press the issue. You know how the Army works. If that is where you want to be and that is where you think you belong, pursue it.
