I want to start school online but I don't really know where to start. What is recommended? Does anyone have tips?

I suggest Coastline Community College. Their teachers were great to work with while I was deployed. They also gave me 40 semester hours of credit for my military training. I only had to take 7 classes to complete my associates.

First, you need to go to the education center on post.
I recommend that you save time by CLEP testing out of courses that you are competent in (like algebra or English).

Have you talked to an education counselor at the ED Center on your post? That would be the first step. They can help you get started. The other thing to look at is what degree do you want to pursue, who offers it, and amongst them who charges rates that stay within your allowed TA.

Once you do all that then it’s a matter of enrolling through the GoArmy Ed website and start taking classes when the term for them starts.

Make sure you check on the accreditation before you decide to attend a certain school. If it isn't accredited it is useless and a waste of time and money.

After you've completed your Associates, I'd recommend Arizona State University or Penn State for the remainder of your Bachelors.
