I have had Soldiers get a ticket for 1 MPH over and it was not even a warning. 1 MPH over ticket is kind of pushing it. But again law is law. I will roll out gate 1 and I am doing the 25 MPH and people will just blow by me like I was nothing. Also it's a lot like that on chamberlin at 0545. But nothing happens. But as soon as I speed once I will get a ticket.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 22 at 2015 2:39 PM2015-09-22T14:39:00-04:002015-09-22T14:39:00-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member984922<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I think that on fort Gordon they are too aggressive. You know that if you are going 1 mile per hour over the speed limit you will get pulled over. So when driving down chamberlain you are so focused on your speedometer that you may fail to see that Soldier jet out to cross the street.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 22 at 2015 2:45 PM2015-09-22T14:45:17-04:002015-09-22T14:45:17-04:001LT Private RallyPoint Member985210<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>They definitely aren't as aggressive in the heavier populated areas as needed, such as the main gate. A shift fire is in order. Some people actually go 10 or 25 as stated but yes, once you go over by 1 mph in the boonies, you get a ticket.Response by 1LT Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 22 at 2015 4:06 PM2015-09-22T16:06:57-04:002015-09-22T16:06:57-04:00SSG Jason Penn985221<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Less... in early 2005, right before I PCS'd I got pulled over for speeding in a school zone on Ft Gordon. First of all, the school had no access to the road. Secondly it was right at the time that the school zone speed limit was in effect. I was doing the posted speed limit for the school zone until the time I had was one minute after the posted time that it switches back to normal speed zone. I accelerated to the normal limit when an MP pulled me over saying that he clocked me 2 minutes prior to the time of change. His word against mine. And all of this was within 50 feet of the end of the school zone.Response by SSG Jason Penn made Sep 22 at 2015 4:09 PM2015-09-22T16:09:51-04:002015-09-22T16:09:51-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member985521<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I haven't lived here for a year and I just got back, but, before I left, everything that was 35 turned into 25, even at night. For some of these roads, that's just ridiculous. <br /><br />But since this is about MPs, I think they need to back off a bit. Pulling people over for 1 milel an hour? I've had that as a warning (which was no different than a ticket it turns out) and I had Soldiers get tickets for that too. But what really kills me is between Signal Towers and the road to gate 2, people went screaming through there all the time, and I've never seen anyone get pulled over for that. <br /><br />And one last thing, slightly off topic: handicapped parking needs to be enforced more. My wife is handicapped and there's cars parked in those spaces at the hospital and commissary all the time with no permits or plates. <br /><br />Ok, rant over.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 22 at 2015 6:01 PM2015-09-22T18:01:44-04:002015-09-22T18:01:44-04:00CSM Michael Chavaree988674<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I got passed by a car going about 50 in a 15 (Operation Slow Down OSD on Benning) around a corner during pt hours... The one-mile-over Rule is a rumor. They do not pull anyone over for going over by one mile. Gate 1 is reduced to 10 miles-an-hour outbound in the morning as opposed to the 15 at gate two. Why are they not consistent? The answer I received was; Quote “that’s the way the Post Commander wants it” end quote. Oh, also, on Range road between the pond and the NSA, they station an MP there intermittently in order to catch drivers coming down the hill too fast.Response by SGM Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 24 at 2015 2:54 PM2015-09-24T14:54:02-04:002015-09-24T14:54:02-04:00SGT Drue Rockwell1126312<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I believe they should be more lenient, within reason.
