Sometimes you can get S-1 to fix it, but it's rare.Response by PFC James Franklin made Jul 15 at 2016 1:59 PM2016-07-15T13:59:17-04:002016-07-15T13:59:17-04:00MSG Private RallyPoint Member1722065<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Your TIS is calculated using your time on Active duty. If you are in the Guard or reserves, your active time is calculated off of active duty orders for training or mobilization. In most cases, your weekend drill does not count as active service. You can go to finance, have them give you a printout of your drill time, some may be coded as active. Find your BN Career Counselor, they will be able to calculate your active time.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 16 at 2016 8:47 AM2016-07-16T08:47:06-04:002016-07-16T08:47:06-04:00MSG Private RallyPoint Member1723262<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>We have a calculator we use when doing your contract at the MEPS. Check your DD1966. But in short, count backwards the time listed on any 214s. Once you access onto Active Duty you should receive an NGB22 - take that to your S1 for further adjustments if necessary. But for contract purposes we just go off of 214s.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 16 at 2016 5:46 PM2016-07-16T17:46:12-04:002016-07-16T17:46:12-04:00CAPT Hiram Patterson1731458<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>When I was commissioned in the Navy, my PEBD (Pay Entry Database) started from the day that I first enlisted in the Army National Guard, some 3 1/2 years before. Time in Service is time actually served on Active Duty. If you have any Federal Service time while in the Guard, this would be included (such as deployments). Time in service for pay and promotions is the total time between enlistment and discharge. Points are awarded for National Guard time based on MUTAs (drill weekends) and Summer Camp. When I was in the guard, you had to have 60 points for a good year. Check your most recent LES for pay and promotion time.Response by CPT David Lowe made Jul 19 at 2016 2:40 PM2016-07-19T14:40:26-04:002016-07-19T14:40:26-04:00SMSgt Private RallyPoint Member1732435<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>TIS is service is just that - total time served - active, guard or reserve - I did a little over 5 years active duty, had a ten year break then went into the guard - and completed 22 years, 11 months and xx days - service. Now if you are looking at Time in Rank - that is another story - time in rank starts over when you switch branches - Navy to Army, Army to Air Force, etc. Your LES and personnel documents will show several times - Pay entry date - can include delayed entry time, active duty time, sea duty, combat duty, etc. For the guard to get a good retirement year, you have to earn 50 points - but if you do earn the 50 points then that year counts as a year of service just like active and reserve duty. Now if you want to talk pay - that is another animinal - AD get day for day pay, Guard - gets 4 days pay for a 2 day drill weekend and then day for day when in a training status or on AD orders. Reserve - is a day for day like AD, but they have to do 24 days of duty a year to be considered having a good year. You need to go to your personnel flight and speak with them to calculate you time in service, time in rank, etc.Response by SMSgt Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 19 at 2016 5:25 PM2016-07-19T17:25:17-04:002016-07-19T17:25:17-04:00PFC Private RallyPoint Member1846011<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Ok here's the deal.
