I decided to go through regular ETS because MEB takes 1-2 years.
Then I signed the Reserve contract for 6 years w/ bonus if i reclass, but I didnt reclass.
Couple months later I was told that I am "totally and permanently disabled" by the VA.
I was wondering if there is a way to get discharged asap from Reserve without going through MEB board or PEB.
Or if I switch to IRR, will I be finishing my contract in IRR? If I've been deemed 100% disabled by the VA, how can I get discharged from the Reserves without going through an MEB board or PEB? 2022-02-16T19:30:17-05:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 7530683

I served in Active Duty from 2016 to 2020 (4 years) and switched to TPU with 6 years of contract.
Before I got out, I got injured during the training and was asked if I wanted to go through regular ETS or MEB board. If not, then you haven't been referred to a MED Board. You can easily go to the IRR. Get with your Commander and Retention NCO. Definitely ask about if you will have to pay back any portion of your bonus. Not sure the process for reserves, but Active Duty MEB’s usually take around 8 months Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 17 at 2022 3:26 PM 2022-02-17T15:26:34-05:00 2022-02-17T15:26:34-05:00 2022-02-16T19:30:17-05:00
