I remember coming up pre OEF/OIF there were very limited choices in boots. What's the best boot now among the 100's of selections?

Nikes are good if you work in the office, they tend to fall apart. I believe the Rockys are better but you have to buy thinner laces, if not, you will have enough string to fast rope. But at the end of the day, a nice pair of broken in Belleville Combat Boot gets the job done any day, any jump.

I recently found out Nike came out with a new upgraded boot. The Nike SFB Field Boot. I've had mine for a month now and they seem like they are holding up very well considering all the walking and rucking I have done with them. They reenforced the toe, which always seemed to fall apart with their old ones. I highly recommend these if you are willing to shell out $160.

Take a pair of issued boots to the boot shop and ask for the SOPC special. They gut the entire boot and change the sole on them leaving you pretty much with a pair of moccasins that look like a boots. I can walk 15 miles with ruck and not even get a hot spot.

I've had a pair of Belleville that got me through an OIF deployment in 2010 and I am still wearing them. They are just now beginning to show wear and tear. If and when I purchase a new pair it will either be Belleville or Rockies.

I remember rolling around Bragg in green jungles. Those were the days. I am not a Nike man. They man not last long but they are comfy.
