I'm PCS'ing to Alaska and haven't had my Levy Brief yet but was wondering if my family and I have to have passports to drive thru Canada?

To my knowledge yes, you are entering a foreign land..... I would recommend getting it anyways

If you have an enhanced driver's license, you can go through Canada, otherwise you need a Passport.

Yes. You'll need a passport or passport card. And the reason isn't that the Canucks require it, the reason is that you'll need it to get back into Alaska. Or, you can avoid all that by taking the ferry from Seattle.

Yes, you will require passports as Customs and Border Protection will turn you back.

Military Orders normally dont need to be accompanied by a passport, but always having one shouldn't even be a question since you never know when you do need to go to another country.. Personal experience I PCSd to Korea didnt even pull out my passport at all the whole time I was there, all I showed was my orders with my Military ID even when leaving coming back into customs so it should be the same driving through Canada, but I'd also get a passport card if I were you.
