I'm sure some with more knowledge of this will comment.Response by SFC William Farrell made May 4 at 2020 2:28 AM2020-05-04T02:28:33-04:002020-05-04T02:28:33-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member5847955<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You would be the dependent. The USAR can't prevent you from moving, just as if your husband were not AD and he had to move to accept a job. You simply change units or request to transfer to the IRR.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made May 4 at 2020 2:37 AM2020-05-04T02:37:54-04:002020-05-04T02:37:54-04:001SG Tommy McGee5848245<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I had a young soldier that was allowed to drill at a unit in Germany under similar circumstances. The company commanders got together and worked out the details.Response by 1SG Tommy McGee made May 4 at 2020 6:04 AM2020-05-04T06:04:45-04:002020-05-04T06:04:45-04:00MAJ Private RallyPoint Member5848682<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You need to have a conversation with your current CO of your reserve unit to discuss the situation. It might be possible to RST with a unit in Germany, but it would require collaboration with your current unit and the unit you wish to RST with. Communication would be the key!Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made May 4 at 2020 8:15 AM2020-05-04T08:15:06-04:002020-05-04T08:15:06-04:00SGM Private RallyPoint Member5848915<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You can absolutely go.<br />You are Guard, so you cannot SUTA drills OCONUS, and you probably don't want to spend $800 to fly to drill...<br />What you can do is transfer to the Army Reserve, and either join a reserve unit in Germany, or one CONUS that will allow you to SUTA with a unit in Germany, or transfer to the IRR and not have to drill, or request a discharge to get out of the Guard.Response by SGM Private RallyPoint Member made May 4 at 2020 9:12 AM2020-05-04T09:12:33-04:002020-05-04T09:12:33-04:00SGT Dan Theman5854980<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I’m quite sure you can go but you’ll still have to serve your time as a NG. <br />That’s goong to be quite costly flying back home for maneuvers.
