Sometimes they are also listed on the VA website, but you have to apply through usajobs. Federal jobs can take 6 months or more to get hired from the closing date. It took me over a year to get my foot in the door (at a lower rate than I'm qualified for). Don't limit yourself or put all your eggs in one basket. Start building a strong resume now and start applying 6 months out. Utilize transitional services to help with the resume and usajob profile.Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 14 at 2020 4:35 PM2020-06-14T16:35:15-04:002020-06-14T16:35:15-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member6006026<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Have you attended a TAP Briefing? However, there are a lot of government positions in the Jacksonville area. There are two Navy bases, one Army camp (Blanding), and the US Army Corps of Engineers, as well as a myriad of other federal agencies. Go to usajobs.gov and register , then search for jobs for which you are qualified. There are job fairs that are held here, too. What do you do in the AF? You may need to be willing to take a position that you feel is lower than your skill set to get in the door, especially since there are no specific AF units in Jacksonville, although there may be some within a couple of hours drive.Response by SP5 Ann Parris made Jun 19 at 2020 10:24 AM2020-06-19T10:24:46-04:002020-06-19T10:24:46-04:00SPC Richard Zacke6036827<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="1702193" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/1702193-sgt-todd-sargent">Sgt Todd Sargent</a> Google "VA Jobs" and go to find a VA Recruiter or look at the many others suggestions.Response by SPC Richard Zacke made Jun 23 at 2020 6:11 PM2020-06-23T18:11:50-04:002020-06-23T18:11:50-04:002020-06-14T11:32:12-04:00
