I'm currently in AIT and going to a unit that's scheduled to deploy early 2018. Is there a married stabilization rule?

I'm married and my units scheduled to deploy early 2018 I'm newly married so I'm wondering if they would deploy me along with my unit and if there's a rule or something that will help me not deploy that fast I really want to get my wife settled in before I would leave for 9 months.

No any deployment stuff would be done by the unit you are going to but there is no requirement for how long you need to be in that unit to deploy and you wife getting settled in the area is not a requirement. depending on your orders your wife would have no need to be in the area if she did not want to be there. She should have a choice to move wherever check your orders.

Think about this: Your wife will be alone at your new duty assignment while you are deployed. so she might get bad thoughts about your military life etc. Some wives go back to their hometown while their husbands deploy. having her in a familiar environment while you're gone, might help. But if you get her on your orders and such and say, get stationed in Germany, then she'll have the issue of living alone in a foreign country while you're gone and that can stress you and her out a bit. Some soldiers would ship their wives back to CONUS so they could be around their family until you got back. So it can be a touchy situation either way. best of luck bro!
