I took many on campus and online courses through K-State before I retired and an currently enrolled in classes. THough the university does not charethree times as much as other schools, K-State is rated in the mid-range regarding cost when compared to other universities across the nation. Taking classes online will cost mort than the TA rate of $250 per credit hour so you will need to plan for that. I recommend using the Pell Grant, scholarships, or savings to cover the remaing costs. The class quality is very high. K-State does not hire adjunct professors for online courses. Adjunct professors are basically freelance teachers. They may or may not have in-depth experience in the topic they are teaching. The online classes at K-State are taught by the same teachers who teach on campus. The class standards, learning outcomes, and assignments are the same. Syllbi are adjusted to account for the online learning community and modes of communication adapted as well. K-State is a great school based on my experience as both a student and now an employee. If you have specific questions about the program I recommend you call or email. The points of contact for most programs are very helpful and informative. I am just one of several people in academic and military student support ready to help out. Might want to check Penn State animal sciences. Good Luck SrA Melissa Chiles! The class lectures via camera was like being in a classroom and the class participation was excellent. The instructor's were second to none. KSU caters to Military and they worked with me during my deployments. I would choose KSU again!! I have done both class room and online. Online is more difficult if you have a professor thats slow responding to questions than in a class room situation where you simply raise your hand. But the convenience is great. Always register first day of of registration and get books early. One main piece of advice make sure you are going to stay there until completion. I have a total of about 150 credits but still need 33 more credits to complete bachelor's which only requires 120 credits. All colleges have a hangup about transferring credits.
