I’m a new National Guardsman trying to figure out my email. I was told what my email address is, but where do I go to access it?

You'll need a CAC reader for your pc to access it. They don't allow username/psw access anymore. You may run into issues depending on the browser that you're using. If you do you can go to militarycac.com and it'll give you a step by step for how to set up your browser. It's kind of a pain in the keister. On my current laptop I haven't been able to make it work. I don't know if they've made it compatible with the Microsoft Edge browser yet. I think it usually works fairly easily with Chrome and Firefox though.

Do not worry too much about this now, you really should only be using your army.mil account for official material and if you are not on a computer using your CAC card pretty regularly, you will want to use your private e-mail whenever possible.

you can also get there on your GKO through Soldier Links but if you're using a civilian computer it may cause you some problems. I just check mine at the armory each month. Anything important and I get a text or an email to my civilian email.

I'm sure it is still Army Knowledge Online (AKO), http://www.us.army.mil, it was taken away from retirees about 5 years ago or less. I guess because of funding, but go to your first line supervisor to verify this information.

New Login Process: As of Oct. 4, 2017 AKO will be utilizing the EAMS-A authentication system instead of the previously-utilized AKO system. You will have the option to use your AKO username and password or your CAC to login to AKO. If you have any issues, please reach out to the AESD by phone at 1-866-335-2769 and submit a ticket for the AKO login queue.
