Only they can provide you with a proper answer. I recommend checking with the VA. They may be eligible for dependency indemnity compensation (DIC). They should be able to retain the same benefits as before (i.e. CHAMPVA, ID card, Chapter 35), but DIC payment rates are much lower than that of 100%. I went on base and visited the JAG office and had them take care of all my other legal paperwork such as living will, will, POA, etc... <br /><a target="_blank" href="https://www.va.gov/disability/dependency-indemnity-compensation">https://www.va.gov/disability/dependency-indemnity-compensation</a> <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default"> <div class="pta-link-card-picture"> <img src="https://d26horl2n8pviu.cloudfront.net/link_data_pictures/images/000/521/009/qrc/tiny-usa-flag.png?1591061894"> </div> <div class="pta-link-card-content"> <p class="pta-link-card-title"> <a target="blank" href="https://www.va.gov/disability/dependency-indemnity-compensation">About VA DIC for spouses, dependents, and parents | Veterans Affairs</a> </p> <p class="pta-link-card-description">Find out how to apply for VA Dependent and Indemnity Compensation (VA DIC).
