I just got to Fort Bragg, and still have to do in processing this week. Will I be able to get block leave for Christmas?

I recently finished Airbone school and got to Fort Bragg a few days ago. All the Sergeants at Airbone school said we’d be able to get block leave but when we got here I’ve been trying to figure out how to get that. Will I still be able to get leave during Christmas?

Contact unit you are going to, the sponsor you should’ve been assigned, and find out from them.

One thing you have to be wary about? Did you just finish Basic and AIT? How many days of leave have you earned? I always hated seeing Soldiers fresh out of Basic and AIT going into the hole with leave days. Some units will not allow you to go in the hole. You will definitely need to talk to the reception Cadre to find out if they will allow you to go in the hole if this is the case. Good luck.

Do you have enough leave to take any of block leave? If you just finished Airborne you probably just finished basic and AIT before that.

Don't go in the hole right away at your first unit. That's a for sure right there. But if you just got to your first duty station, you might be still inprocessing when block leave starts. Maybe. I don't know how long in processing takes at Bragg.

Did you ask whoever is assigned as cadre from reception? Your sponsor? I'd start with reception cadre and go from there.
