I heard today that on post housing isn't suppose to take all your BAH but many people are unaware of this?? Any Truth???

Rules change constantly but when I was in, your BAH was your rent money so yes effectively you lost your BAH when you moved into base housing.

I think it depend on where you are. I heard my leaving LPO talk about the base that she is heading over, the base subcontracted out to a management company, so the company don't take all the BAH and at the end of the year, they credit you back all the extra with a check.

So I think there is some truth about what you heard.

SPC Private RallyPoint Member In my previous duty station, they had older houses that they only charged part of your BAH, but if you live in the newer houses like me, they took it all to include your increase if it happened. You need to ask either the management company or the military housing office in your installation.

They don't take all of my bah. Rent is 1000 and my bah is 1438
