This is a large number that is bigger than some Army Branches. I heard AUSA has a requirement for each chapter to have an Officer, Enlisted and Corporate member on their BoD. In all seriousness, it could be due to the Hatch Act. We aren't supposed to use our positions for political purposes and having one of us on the BoD would be doing just that. AUSA is essentially a lobbyist organization so there may be some legal and ethical considerations. I am no expert on the Hatch Act. I only know what they send us in the emails every time an election rolls around lol.
