In all seriousness, it could be due to the Hatch Act. We aren't supposed to use our positions for political purposes and having one of us on the BoD would be doing just that. AUSA is essentially a lobbyist organization so there may be some legal and ethical considerations. I am no expert on the Hatch Act.
