Secondly do you not have any NCO's in your unit? Finally your ERB will show you what your are authorized to wear and AR670-1 and DA PAM 670-1 will show you how and where to place all awards , patches and other fun bling on the uniform . I hav enticed most large bases have someone at clothing and sales that sometimes put your uniform together for a price.Response by 1SG Dennis Hicks made Aug 31 at 2020 7:28 PM2020-08-31T19:28:30-04:002020-08-31T19:28:30-04:001SG Private RallyPoint Member6264840

I did some basic research.

716 Engineers do not have any unit citations. I don't believe you have deployed or gone to any school since AIT.

Without looking at your SRB, I will say any awards you may have earned, national defense service ribbon, and "fruit loops" (Army Service ribbon from Basic).

Ask your FLLResponse by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 31 at 2020 7:37 PM2020-08-31T19:37:20-04:002020-08-31T19:37:20-04:00CPT Private RallyPoint Member6264959

Ask your platoon SGT, etc......

I get it we are reserves at best we might wear an ASU once a year, and even my recent years those events have been nixed, and when we do wear them it looks like a Stolen Valor convention.

If all you've done is AIT, then you'll have only two ribbons.
National Defense
Army Service Ribbon
No GWOT since it requires 30+ days service outside of TRADOC, and the approval authority is the Battalion Commander.
You'll have to ask if you can wear a unit citation award (worn on the right above the name tag).
Your weapons qualification badge I suppose.
Of course your unit crest on the shoulders and beret (they come in pairs).
You'll need your branch insignia on your lapel, and the US on the lapel.

It's all in AR 670-1

Here's how I kind of look at it. The uniform should look complete and correct. Meaning have your head gear, unit crests, rank, branch insignia, branch regimental crest, and US insignia, and name tape all in the right place. Then the two ribbons (National Defense and Army Service). That would make a complete uniform of someone that steps off the graduation stage at AIT. Anything LESS than that is not a complete uniform, and anything more can't really be called out unless someone knows your service details.

If your TRADOC NCO's did you any favors you'd have everything but your current rank, and current unit crest. I'm talking to YOU Drill SGT's............... Why are soldiers coming out of TRADOC missing the two ribbons, a weapon qual badge, US and Branch lapel insignia, and Name Tag?

But from what I experienced TRADOC didn't want all the privates buying out the PX of the ribbons and bling, and USAR soldiers go home without any future guidance but maybe years later to be yelled at for looking ate up.Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 31 at 2020 8:08 PM2020-08-31T20:08:04-04:002020-08-31T20:08:04-04:00CPT Private RallyPoint Member6265042

So many issues to pick apart here.

1) FLL should have a Leader's Book that has all of your information up to and including what awards/decorations you have, service stripes, etc..
2) Why have you not updated your uniform for the last 2 years? Does your uniform even fit still?
3) How in the hell do you NOT know what is supposed to be on your uniform?

I'm not picking on you personally, I am just....again....flabbergasted by the whole thing. I get it that Reserves don't wear their uniforms very often....but damn. The last time I had to wear my uniform was for a DA Photo right after I had SFC sewn on. Even then, I still have to be aware of what I need to update when new awards come my way.

But, I digress.

Here is what you need to do/get:

1) Ensure it still fits. If not, then then get it in for alterations.
2) Find out exactly what awards and decorations you have received since you were an E-1 and get the ribbons for them. And the appropriate number of bars for however many ribbons you got.
3) No patches are sewn onto the ASUs so that point is moot. If you have deployed, then you would have the unit badge as your "patch" and that goes on the right chest pocket.
4) Clearly, you need to get SPC sewn on and however many Service Stripes you need. One Service Stripe for every 3 years of service. If you did deploy to an area that allows you to wear an Overseas Bar on your right sleeve, then get those, as well. Each Bar denotes 6 months.
5) Unit Crests. Regimental Insignia. Branch Insignia.

Then, ensure you read DA Pam 670-1 and AR 670-1 on how to wear them/placement of your bling.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 31 at 2020 8:41 PM2020-08-31T20:41:53-04:002020-08-31T20:41:53-04:00SGM Private RallyPoint Member6265338

-SPC rank
-Every award in your iPERMS
-one service stripe for every 3 years
-one overseas service bar for every six months deployed in qualifying countries
-unit awards that you were there for.
-historical unit awards optional
-CSIB if authorized
You can find them at any clothing and sales or aafes online.Response by SGM Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 31 at 2020 9:40 PM2020-08-31T21:40:29-04:002020-08-31T21:40:29-04:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member6272163

Look at your ERBResponse by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 2 at 2020 5:04 PM2020-09-02T17:04:39-04:002020-09-02T17:04:39-04:002020-08-31T19:10:03-04:00
