PO2 Michael Henry2363483<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I just had the appointment and with claims, the brown envelope usually arrives inside of 8 weeks from date of appointments, from my experience. How long is it for appeals? I listed symptoms for hypothyroidism at the 10, 30 and 60% levels and all 3 nerves are damaged in my right arm from shoulder to fingers. Each section of each nerve and each section of the arm has an individual rating.I have two appeals out and just had an appointment with an outside clinic under contract with the VA for both of them. How long will I wait?2017-02-22T16:20:44-05:00PO2 Michael Henry2363483<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I just had the appointment and with claims, the brown envelope usually arrives inside of 8 weeks from date of appointments, from my experience. It finally went to the court in late 2015 and all six issues were remanded back to the Regional Office in St Petersburg, FL. Right after the remand, in early 2016, St Pete contacted me and had me resubmit all the paperwork for them to get all of the medical records from the doctors that were originally submitted with the original claims that they should, with any reasonable expectation, already have. This is even though the court gave the Region specific instructions on what they needed to do on each issue. A year and a half later I still have received no further word on my appeal status, though, informally, I have been told at least another two years before it gets processed as there are that many remands ahead of mine. I firmly believe that the VA needs to do away with remands, they are, for the most part, just a stall tactic to delay making the decision. I maintain that if the court has enough information to tell the Region what they need to do on a remand, they have enough information to make the decision and close out the appeal, but then, that probably makes too much sense for a government agency.Response by CWO2 John Markiewicz made Feb 22 at 2017 5:32 PM2017-02-22T17:32:17-05:002017-02-22T17:32:17-05:00MSG Steve Wiersgalla2363931<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am currently in my 12th month waiting to hear anything on my appeal.Response by MSG Steve Wiersgalla made Feb 22 at 2017 7:30 PM2017-02-22T19:30:55-05:002017-02-22T19:30:55-05:00GySgt Melissa Gravila2364372<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It depends- bottom line, don't hold your breath, keep bugging them.
