I have orders to PCS to Fort Wainwright. Who do I need to talk to to get my vehicle shipped?

Policy changes so ask EVERYONE!
The travel office managed to make a reservation for my truck and trailer. They paid for my truck and DID NOT pay for the trailer yet they never informed me of that piece so make sure your entire convoy (family...) is taken care of.
Best wishes, Wainwright was my favorite duty station. Had a blast being all "outdoorsy" and stuff.

Follow the directions and drop your vehicle off at the shipping center. I drove mine to St. Louis, then flew home (they have a shuttle service there to the airport). It is supposed to take around 2 weeks to get to AK, but ours came in a bit quicker than that. The pickup location in Fairbanks isn't hard to find either.

I left mine at my parents . I wasn't authorized to ship mine. There were loads of vehicles for sale cheap on base. People PCSing and not wanting to take vehicle with them, the other plus to that wa the vehicles I bought were already prepped for the winters. Now that was way back in the mid 70's .

Find the nearest VPC. The VPC website will tell you what documents you need to bring and what steps to take to what your vehicle ships without issues.

READ YOUR ORDERS. You will be amazed at how much you can learn by just doing this simple thing. As a PVT, you may or may not be authorized to ship your vehicle. Refer back to my first three words of this post
