I have orders for Ft Huachuca. Any advice from anyone who's stationed there (e.g. where to live, what to do, etc.)?

First and foremost. You're going to a TRADOC post. So you have the opportunity to go school, have your wife go back to school or you two can go and do both. You have a lot of power now because you now can plan your life for the next 3 years. Think about that

We have always lived off post, but the BAH for Sierra Vista is aweful and doesn’t at all reflect the market there. On post is the way to go for living, in my opinion.

I was stationed there from 1993-2015 (active duty and government contractor) and it has changed a lot. If you like out door activities their is a lot to do and Tucson is 70 miles away and Phoenix is 200 miles away. Their is a lot of on post housing that has been built in the last few years so they are pretty nice.

Can't really help you until you get your welcome letter from your new unit. There's a wide variety of jobs here. Most instructors work long hours. My instructors don't... but are TDY roughly 40% of the year. Most non-instructor billets are normal hours and work weeks.
