After much research on my part, I took 2 sleep studies and was promptly admitted to the growing percentage of people who wear sleep masks of some kind at night to restore healthy sleep. For some ungodly reason, after a half-hour or so the unit startles me awake by massively force-feeding me air when I am just at the REM sleep stage. It is very disconcerting.
