You can add it yourself- if triangular in shape, then more than likely is a memorial/burial flag

It is triangle. This was the flag from my Pop-Pops coffin.

Local glass and door outfits custom cut glass. For a small shadow box, $10-15 usually covers it.

I have an American Flag in a wooden case but there is no glass or plastic coving over the flag. Does anybody have any ideas?

I was afraid that was what I was going to have to do.

You take it to places where they make military awards and they will fix it for you too

SGT Shannon Weaver Logan, to build on what SGM Bill Frazer said, you can go to your local home center (Home Depot, Menards, Lowes), and buy both a small sheet of glass and the tool used to cut it. Both are inexpensive...certainly cheaper than paying a glass shop to do it. There's plenty of how-to videos online that will instruct you how to properly score the glass and break it clean.

I recently had to do something similar when I broke the glass on a decorative art piece, and found it easy to do.

P.S., I have a flag flown over the Capital on the day of my final drill, which I plan on building a shadow box to highlight both that and a few other Army mementos, so knowing how to cut glass will help me with that project too.

Thank you very much for that tip. I really don't want this messed up. This was the flag that was in my Pop-Pops coffin.

SGT Shannon Weaver Logan - It's easy to do, really. I was able to do it the first time around for, maybe, $10 invested and a brief YouTube tutorial. You get the measurements you need, use a straight edge, score the glass, snap it, and put the glass in the case; all done! And going forward, you have the knowledge and the scoring tool to do it again if necessary.

I would take it to a local hardware store and see what they would charge for a piece of glass. That said, it isn't that hard to replace yourself, just takes a little time and effort. (Personally, I would head to a local Ace Hardware rather than the big-box places).
