I have a Soldier going to Jordan. Has anyone been there recently, and if so, what should they expect?

I was there. I'd prepare him to stock up on supplies. Especially things he likes. When I was there, there was not a PX. It's a nice camp and it was growing when I left so not to sure what it looks like now.
So basics: combat showers (hot water would run out)
There is internet (you would use wifi) just not the best and the more people that showed up the worse it got.
PX was pretty much the native energy drink and I think he might have had cigarettes. It was just a local selling stuff.
Careful of the electric outlets. When I was there the electricity was ran by a local that had to read from a English book. It ended up fryed a lot of stuff. BE CAREFUL!
When I left they just opened their gym. It looked nice.
Have people send you snacks. When I was there food would start to run out. I hope he isn't a picky eater!
Dust! Make sure your Soldier has his water neck! He/she will want it!

I was there in 94. I can't give any insight on anything mission related, but tell him to see Petra, Madaba, and Aqaba while he is there. If he knows nothing about those places, tell him to read about them before he goes.
