I am just curious beforehand if anyone has any experience.Response by SSgt John P made Jan 22 at 2018 2:53 PM2018-01-22T14:53:10-05:002018-01-22T14:53:10-05:00CPT Lawrence Cable3283294<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If they won't waiver it, I suggest the Air National Guard. I believe they will take prior service up to age 59 as long as that will allow them 20 total years TIS.Response by CPT Lawrence Cable made Jan 22 at 2018 3:13 PM2018-01-22T15:13:12-05:002018-01-22T15:13:12-05:00SMSgt Thor Merich3283433<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Generally no. The basic rule is that you have to be able to complete 20 years of service before you reach age 60. If I am doing the math correctly, you will only have 19 years total by the time you reach 60.Response by SMSgt Thor Merich made Jan 22 at 2018 3:51 PM2018-01-22T15:51:33-05:002018-01-22T15:51:33-05:00SSgt Private RallyPoint Member3284007<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>From what i've learned with my own experience: you can enlist up to 42 in the Air Guard. This age is altered w/ time in service. Now, I've also been told that there is a waiver for just about everything, and the Reg that was keeping me from having an easy re-entry into the Air Guard was changed in Oct, allowing me to, most likely, get back in (I turn 40 in 2.5 weeks).Response by SSgt Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 22 at 2018 6:54 PM2018-01-22T18:54:34-05:002018-01-22T18:54:34-05:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member3284153<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>it depend how fit you are and the doctor does a complete physical evaluation to say yay or nayResponse by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 22 at 2018 7:56 PM2018-01-22T19:56:31-05:002018-01-22T19:56:31-05:00LTC John Shaw3284331<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="1442118" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/1442118-ssgt-john-p">SSgt John P</a> You could join the Army Reserve or National Guard, depending on the MOS, we have some MOS that will go to age 62. You could discuss going to the Warrant Officer program, those have age waivers especially for Cyber or other critical areas. Not sure what you are targeting.<br />You may want to hedge your bet and go for the blended retirement program, I know you are targeting the 20 year plan.Response by LTC John Shaw made Jan 22 at 2018 9:22 PM2018-01-22T21:22:31-05:002018-01-22T21:22:31-05:001SG Private RallyPoint Member3294828<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I doubt it.
