I got flagged in basic training for an ARTICLE 15 and I am now in AIT, I graduate next week and still have no orders?

You can't get orders while flagged for legal.

When I was in basic - I had a friend get on in basic but he is National Guard (still is 16 years later) and he hasn't had any issues. If you're flagged and active duty... until that gets resolved, you're probably gonna be a holdover.

One can transfer from assignment to assignment with a flag. Well, depending on the flag. Since you got an Article 15 in Basic (I'm rather impressed by that) but still managed to go to AIT, then there you go. Now, if you were pending Court Martial....you aren't going anywhere. Again, since you made it to AIT, my guess is that the system just doesn't have you down for orders yet. It happens. There have been Joes that didn't get in trouble in Basic or AIT but still had to wait for orders.

But, I would highly recommend you speak with your AIT CoC to find out the exact skinny. Perhaps they know.

Everyone is shocked by the Art 15 in basic??? I made a report of a holdover airmen for his crazy behavior.. turns out he was smoking crack. They found his pipe in the rafters. He got a bad conduct discharge... many of the holdovers didn’t care anymore so they felt like while in uniform, “why not?”.

I am guessing you have not told your chain of command yet because you’re not wanting to shine light on the fact that you got an article 15 and should be flagged correct? Because this answer could so easily be gotten, like almost immediately. In this case, use your chain of command.

The art 15 was in basic but they sent you forward to AIT. ?? Not enough information. Did they complete the art 15 process? Are you still flagged? If you are flagged then they may be holding your orders until it’s complete. They trained you so they must think you’re salvageable. Sit tight, don’t screw up and it will all pass. But if you are prone to be a screw-up expect a bad experience when they finally kick you out of the service with a general or bad conduct discharge.

I myself was almost kicked out of basic for what the DS called “untrainable soldier.” I was on my way to the central correctional facility (CCF or Charlie’s Chicken Farm- for you old timers). So losing rank early on is no big deal- it’s recoverable. Just learn from your mistakes and Soldier-on. Good luck trooper. Request to go Airborne!!
