I got chaptered out for APFT failure back in 2018. I currently receive VA disability, but is there anyway that I could join AD again?

I don't know about AD, but you could join the NG. You just can't receive your VA Benefits during your drill weekend days.

In addition to what has already been said, you understand that the new fitness test is even harder?

I'm going to guess you failed on the run, because that seems to be the most common failure. The run is even harder now because of all the events preceding it take a toll.

Not trying to discourage you, just giving a reality test.

The new ACFT is well documented now on Social media. Learn about it, conduct a self assessment, and if you still feel that you can hack it, go see a recruiter and give it a go. Just don't go in with high expectations

As others have said if your RE code is 1 you could get back in, but as others have said reserves or guard would be an easier way in.

As for fitness you would have to take the OPAT for whatever MOS you are going for. You should google it. You would need to pass it before most recruiters would be able to send you through MEPS. It would let them know you at least have a good enough baseline of physical fitness to qualify for the MOS you want. Even medical officers now take the OPAT to be eligible for their commissioning process.

The ACFT is no joke. Other than the run I like it better than the apft but I am not a runner. You will be gassed though before you even start your run. I would suggest you start working towards being able to pass all the events of the ACFT if you’re serious about trying to come back. Go talk to a recruiter. I am guessing whoever you speak with will give you an OPAT or some of the events of the ACFT before they even entertain your packet.

Depends on your RE code. Speak to a recruiter and reference your DD214. They will be able to provide the most current information.
