I failed two PT tests and my unit is still trying to keep me in the Army. Can they do that?

It couldn’t be that they know you that you are failing on purpose and this are taking their time to get you. It could have been the packet was missing something so they wait 90 and test you again.

For the love of god. Your a supply clerk with a supply room. If you can’t handle that get used to asking if they want fries with that. Cause it isn’t rocket science. I have seen many PFC and SPC run supply rooms for companies of over 250 soldiers. To include having to manage inventory for full gear issues (no CIF) on post.

The funny thing about soldiers who do dumb things to get chaptered is that a few years down the road they wish they were still in. Too many times we've seen people who post on here that they did something stupid so that they could get out of the Army. They then ask for advice on how to get back in or how to get their discharge upgraded. The easiest way to leave the Army is to complete your enlistment and earn that honorable discharge. There are many soldiers who successfully complete their enlistments with bad backs, knees, feet, and other ailments. I highly encourage you to rethink your plan of action and stick out your commitment.

COs are suppossed to process separation after 2 consecutive record PT failures within a year. Forget the AR that is in. But COs have some discretion in this area. Be careful though, if you are purposely failing PT, they could try to kick you out using a harsher method.

Sure they can! Everything is waiverable. They can also send you on a deployment or remote assignment with a failed PT Test...and they can demote you, put you on a control roster, and generally make your life a living Hell while you are on said remote hardship tour.

Sure can .... I would ship your ass to Afghanistan and make sure your on out house cleaning. To make sure you did not hurt anyone you would not be allowed to have weapons plus be on 24 hour supervision.
No one took your hand and made you join the Army. You of your own free will signed that contract. If you do not like your job then request to be retrained.

Dude, you know what you do, serve out your contract, and then get out. Until then, pass your PT test, and do your fucking job. The Army is not for everyone, but once you sign on the dotted line, you are in for your term of enlistment.

I should add, posting this, here, is incredibly fucking stupid, and will be something you regret.

Look, you signed on the dotted line. Honor your commitment then don't reenlist. Young recruits today want instant gratification without putting in the effort, live in social media, and believe they are special.

I saw this happen a handful of times when I was in and I can tell you 1 of 2 things is happening right now:

1. Your leadership knows what you’re up to and they’re going to fuck with you a bit as a result.

2. Your leadership has somehow gotten the impression that you aren’t a shitbag, and that you have the potential to be a really good soldier, and they want to see you live up to that potential.

In either case, you’ll probably end up taking like 6 more APFT’s before they finally give up hope of you ever passing one and begin with the chapter process. In my last unit before I got out, we had a dude who ended up failing something like 15 APFT’s before they finally decided to chapter him. Basically, that dude just didn’t want to be there anymore and his first-line was completely unaware of this and thought the dude was a good soldier otherwise. Ironically enough, that guy joined the 3 percenters almost immediately after getting out.

Frankly, I wouldn’t recommend trying to get chaptered for PT failure. But if that’s the way you’re planning on getting out, then, you know, expect to be there a while.

Don't do that. pass the PT test. Your going to regret not sticking with the Army for the rest of your life. You get back out there and will be living in poverty with no chance of advancement . Army life might be the easiest most rewarding chance you get. The question about can they do that? You better work with them, before you get screwed up in ways you can't imagine could even happen to you.

Wow. Okay, I've read some of your responses here PFC Private RallyPoint Member. It sounds like you have a back injury that you feel prevents you from completing your APFT. It also sounds like you haven't gone on sick call to get a profile for this injury, as you just want to separate from the service and be done with the Army at this point.

That's not how this works.

If you were injured in the line of duty, to such an extent that you can no longer meet the physical requirements to serve, you have to go through a medical board to be discharged. And if the injury was there prior to service, you have to go through a different process for an EPTS discharge, which may be off the table depending how long you've been in.

If you don't have a profile, then the army doesn't want to hear about your injury, it doesn't exist in any legal or procedural capacity. If it actually exists, getting a profile for it is incredibly easy. I'm going to be completely honest here Private, it sounds like you're trying to dodge your obligation to your country. If you leave with a less then honorable discharge, it will be something that follows you for a very long time. No matter what the circumstances are, having a less than honorable discharge is akin to a criminal conviction in the eyes of many employers.

Additionally, if you're caught faking an injury to fail your APFT, you can be prosecuted under UCMJ. Trust me, you really don't want to go down that road.

They can keep you in since they know you are tyring to do to get out. You =can be charged with malingering and that will be much worse for you. SO just finnish your enlistment and then get out.
