Not just 2 miles, need to be running at least 3 miles at whatever your mile pace is to pass. Running 3 or more will ensure you have reserve fuel for the 2.Response by SGT Bryon Sergent made Jun 22 at 2018 1:42 AM2018-06-22T01:42:00-04:002018-06-22T01:42:00-04:00MAJ Private RallyPoint Member3732624<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I talk to guys about this all the time. The underlying problem that almost every one of them have is not that they don't know what to do, it's that they're not doing anything. The APFT events require consistency. I do very well on the APFT and people automatically assume I live in the gym. I actually don't even belong to one. I do push ups two days a week. I do pull ups 2 days a week. My workouts are rarely over 25-30 minutes. I run 4-5 times a week. Good genetics plays a part in my run time for sure. But anyone who consistently does this will never have to fear passing the APFT. <br /><br />Oh, and if you are carrying extra weight, lose it. It's doing nothing but hurting your performance.Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 22 at 2018 8:31 AM2018-06-22T08:31:06-04:002018-06-22T08:31:06-04:00SFC Kelly Fuerhoff3733370<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Just search how to improve your run and you'll find a plethora of information and tips.Response by SFC Kelly Fuerhoff made Jun 22 at 2018 12:21 PM2018-06-22T12:21:52-04:002018-06-22T12:21:52-04:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member3758401<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>We have all ranks giving the same advice. And it’s excellent advice. Go out and run on your own!!! You already knew what you need to do before you came on here. NOW DO IT!!!Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 1 at 2018 11:58 AM2018-07-01T11:58:18-04:002018-07-01T11:58:18-04:00MAJ Private RallyPoint Member4016296<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My advice is purely based on how long you have before your APFT. 2-3 months, use Google or FM 7-22 and get to work. If it's within the next 2 weeks, there's not much you can do but learn from this and do better next time.Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 3 at 2018 4:19 PM2018-10-03T16:19:06-04:002018-10-03T16:19:06-04:002018-06-21T14:47:02-04:00
