I am thinking about reenlisting for Korea. What considerations should I be taking into account when talking to the reup NCO?

I am coming up on my first reenlistment and I heard that the drawdown would be affecting future rotations through Korea, so I was thinking now is as good a time as ever to do a rotation through Korea. Some concerns I have is that my wife would not like to go and is willing to stay in our hometown while I was there. I was thinking about something along the lines of a one year unaccompanied tour if it was available. I don't really care much about where exactly I would be stationed as long I was able to experience as much of the local culture as possible while I was there. Any advice you have is much appreciated. What are the chances of being able to find an airborne slot there? I was told there was a significant SOCOM presence there.

You can go there on your own. My wife stayed back when I went there for a year. It a great learning experience both in the culture of the country and the area of your mos. Haven't seen any "airborne slots" there. If you are in a combat arms mos expect to be up north close to the border.
