I am PCSing to Campbell & currently slotted to go to 1BDE (but want 3BDE). Is it as easy as talking to the Welcome Center Personnel Clerk?

I'm out but on my second PCS to Campbell I went to G3 to switch brigades. I had to get a letter of release from my brigade sergeant major. He told me to see the battalion CSM and that guy made it into a big old stink. I believe is words were "If you don't wanna be here we don't want you here!" But he gave me my release. Good luck.

Go to G3, strength management. They will tell you the same thing Ben stated. It would help to get there a day or two prior to signing in, to get your ducks in a row.

1st Brigade is great. I spent first 4 yrs of my career in 1st BCT. Everyone want to be apart of 3rd BCT for what, past glory? Bastogne No Slack leads the way!

Have you already received your PCS orders? If not, call branch and ask them to change them. I'm in 3rd. It's decent, but not what it once was.

There have been great replies, but bear in mind that once you start processing through 21st Replacement, you'll go to 1st. It is very difficult to change once the unit has notice you are filling a vacancy.

Seriously though, go to No Slack. As a former medic there I can guarantee you will never have another chance to be in a unit like that. If you want a signed copy of The Hornet's Nest or No Greater Love i can send them to you (jk). But there is no unit that is closer than that. check out or FB page "No Slack Nation" and you will se the kind of cohesion we are about in and out of the army

Stick with your orders to be in 1BCT. Bastogne is the best Brigade here. I am partial in my statement because I am in 1st but I love it here and would not want to go to any other Brigade.
