I am surprised that you enlisted with a BSN? Have you taken
the NCLEX? Do you still possess a valid RN License? The Army offers Direct
Appointments into the Nurse Corps for Soldiers and Civilians who possess both a
BSN and RN regardless of experience. Maj. Nelson is correct, the Army also
starts all Nurses as 2LTs and Med Surge until they have completed their first
year or get promoted to 1LT. But the AMED recruiter can offer you a guaranteed
AOC School, usually ICU, Psyche Nurse, Community Health, or OB/GYN Nursing. You
have to ask for ER and get some time in the Nurse Corps before you can apply to
be a FNP or any NP programs that offer Masters, etc.

Again, you need to go to http://www.goarmy.com/amedd and put in your zip code and
find an AMEDD recruiter. They will get you started. Good luck.

AMEDD: Army Medical Careers

The Army AMEDD program allows one to experience a medical job like no other.
