I am at a crossroads in my osut? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/i-am-at-a-crossroads-in-my-osut

Im at week 16 of osut I got nearly a stage 3 stress fracture, been on profile since April 27th and I’m at a crossroads on what choice to make, I have yet to pass a ACFT at infantry standard, I’m national guard so I can’t reclass, my drill Sergeant and company Commander offered a ELD that would allow me to re-enlist after 6 months, if I accept it would be speedy yet I want to take the recycle yet I know I will probably fail my ACFT again and not meet infantry standards and I could get chaptered out for something much worse that could make coming back harder.

This is honestly putting my mind through more turmoil than anything else I have dealt with in terms how each choice has its own alternative outcomes for good or for bad.

I think accepting the DS offer, getting out and putting the effort into PT 5 days a week and working on my deadlift, sprint drag carry and ball throw and to shave more time off my 14min 2 mile may be my best choice, yet I am having mix thoughts because I really want to take the recycle yet a part of me feels it will be in vein and could end in a chapter that prevents me from coming back

I really just need advice before I make a decision I may regret my whole life? Only your unit can offer you a reclass, or recycle, or a discharge. Active duty command doesn’t have the authority to extend your stay or discharge you from service. When you’re NG it’s basically like you’re visiting your cousins and while you have to follow their rules, they aren’t your parents.
Contact your unit before making any decisions, because they have the final say. Whatever you do, let your body heal and don’t break yourself trying to pass basic SFC Private RallyPoint Member Sun, 31 May 2020 15:59:23 -0400 2020-05-31T15:59:23-04:00 2020-05-31T07:54:48-04:00
