I am a promotable SSG and I am looking for advice on how to best go about getting a broadening assignemtent?

This would be a good point to consider a joint assignment. You'll want to knock out Battle Staff NCO Course first; it will help prepare you for the job.
Drill Instructor would be a good choice at your current level, too if you're up for that.
Otherwise, Instructor and OC/T positions are coveted everywhere. You just need the requisite schools. I'd recommend attending Army Basic Instructor Course (ABIC) to anyone, anyway, along with Small Group Instructor.

You could try for West Point there are a lot of opportunities here for NCOS. So I assume you do not need PSG time as a recruiter? I'm only assuming your a recruiter based on what you tagged for the discussion.

Branch management should be able to assist in this matter. AIT PSG is a hot ticket item these days. If is long hours and dealing with initial entry Soldiers, but that is the point of a broadening assignment. You give that extra to the Army and when board time comes along the Army is going to look a little closer at you than say someone who has been homesteading in a FORSCOM unit for the past 10 years. You need to be a great PLSG first. It will open your eyes to a cross section of the unit and the Army. Don't become the Movement NCO unless you want to work your ass off while your buddies are chilling before deployment.

Good luck... every one of mine has been denied.

The only things I can think of for sure, are Recruiter/Drill Sergeant. WTU PSG was supposed to be viewed equally, but it's getting harder and harder to get a cadre position. It seems most WTU cadre positions have been changed to Reserve slots now.

Start prepping a warrant package in your field. As you prepare this packet it will also provide options while serving as an nco. After all sounds like your making this a career so get the all you can from it. Everyone has given great advice; but, you want options for progression with reward.
