How will we take Mosul from ISIS?

ISF/Coalition is already attacking Mosul. There aren't many updates on it. Their main command post was blown up last month. Preperations are already finished I believe?

Kurds aren't taking part of the northern offensive, so I hear, because it would conflict with the Iraqi government's interest (picture Russia's attack on Berlin, then the split of Berlin). Although Kurds are much more responsible in war than Russians.

I think it's going to be a full scale invasion. They will occupy the surrounding towns, until they can engulf Mosul from all sides. There will be so many booby traps and jihadists posing as civilians. There's really no good way to do it. Iraq won't absolutely level the city because it's still their responsibility.

It will take longer than 24 hours, that much I know.

What really grinds my gears is that we are heading back to a place where we spilled blood and lost some real Hero's fighting for Mosul already, pisses me off more than you will know!

Get the M1A1 abrahms tanks back from Hezbollah(You wonder why we even gave them to Iraqi in the first place never thinking its a puppet of Iran and now Iran can study and reverse engineer them soon) and we keep them since they will be broke dick soon since I am sure the Iraqi BSB people at the front will be wiped out soon and the tanks will not be working properly or at all. We can man them and maybe so can some Pesh Merga if we can just rein in the elements that attack Turkey so Turkey won't bomb the militias in Iraq. This picture makes me sick!

- Iraqi and US SF will provide intelligence, coordination, safe houses, high target seizures and air strikes.

- Iraqi army will occupy key terrain and conduct the attack.

- US Generals will provide planning and C2.

It's not up to us. It is up to the Iraqis. Depending on which open-source info you read, we may or may no have SOF there "advising" the Iraqis and Kurds, but they aren't going to "take Mosul" (if they are indeed there), they will just help the Iraqi army with some air support and advice.
